Tipico names former bwin.party executive as new CEO
Tipico has appointed Joachim Baca, former chief operating officer of bwin.party, as its new chief executive.
Baca will assume his new role at Tipico on July 18 and replace Jan Bolz, who is leaving the company by mutual consent.
The 44-year-old will oversee Tipico’s expansion plans and head up an ongoing effort to strengthen its brand positioning in the German sports betting market.
Baca joins the firm after a 10-year spell as a member of the management board at bwin.party, where, as chief operating officer, he helped implement a customer-centric management approach, expand the operator’s sports betting offering and drive innovation.
“Tipico is a remarkable success story – it has transformed itself to the German market leader within a decade of its foundation,” Baca said.
“I am greatly looking forward to working with the Tipico team and its owners to enhance the company’s existing successes and lead the company through its next chapter of growth.”
The appointment comes after private equity group CVC Capital Partners in April agreed a deal to acquire a majority stake in Tipico.
