Gauselmann to consolidate sales at Merkur HQ in Germany
The Gauselmann Group has announced that it is to consolidate the management of all global sales activities from its Merkur Gaming headquarters in Lübbecke, Germany.
The restructuring will mean that the Lübbecke facility will assume responsibility for the administration of sales activities in North and South America.
According to Gauselmann, the group generated around 60% of its total revenue from outside of Germany, with most of this coming through the Merkur Gaming brand.
However, Gauselmann said this rearrangement will mean that some staff at its former head office in Miami, Florida, in the US who are not part of the sales or technical support teams will be let go.
But Gauselmann also noted that the new measures will not have any impact on its Sunshine Games development studio in Las Vegas, Nevada, with this facility to continue to develop games content for the group.
Confirmation of the restructure comes in the same week that Gauselmann acquired what it described as a “significant majority stake” in igaming platform provider Bede Gaming.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Gauselmann said that the agreement would further enhance its digital offering, and leave it well-positioned to take advantage of the re-regulation of the German online gaming market from 2021.
