888 seeks approval for appointment of Frieberger as CEO
Online gambling firm 888 is reportedly hoping to gain approval from regulators to appoint Itai Frieberger as its new chief executive.
Frieberger currently serves as chief operating officer of the brand and has led the business for four years, first as chief executive and more recently as executive chairman.
According to The Telegraph newspaper, 888 is keen to move Frieberger to the position of chief executive in order to allow Brian Mattingley to step back from the role.
888 would need to gain approval in countries where it currently holds gambling licences.
Should the appointment secure the necessary approval, Frieberger would take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the online gaming brand.
Frieberger has been a board member at 888 since 2005, prior to which he held a number of senior roles with Gala and Ritz.
