South African bookmakers body backs All-in Diversity Project

The Association of South African Bookmakers (SABA) has become the first organisation of its kind to declare its support for gambling industry-driven inclusion initiative All-in Diversity Project.

SABA will act as a strategic partner of the initiative and support the group with its efforts to promote diversity, equality and inclusion in the gambling industry. 

Representing a number of corporate and independent bookies in South Africa, the voluntary SABA offers mutual aid to members and helps them to maintain and promote fair business practices.

“Our mission statement and the goals and objectives of the All-in Diversity Project align perfectly to provide our members with a platform to support a diverse workplace and leverage the effects of diversity to achieve a competitive business advantage,” SABA chief executive Sean Coleman said.

Christina Thakor-Rankin, co-founder of the All-in Diversity Project, added: “Africa continues to be one of the world’s most exciting emerging markets, and we are very proud to welcome the continent’s pre-eminent industry association to the project.

“Not only does this underline the project’s international scope, but also the relevance and importance of diversity and inclusion to the sector globally.”

Confirmation of SABA’s support comes after the All-In Diversity Project last week announced a new partnership with the UK’s Business Standards Institution to develop a code of practice for diversity and equality.
