World Series of Politics: Kansas, Missouri and tax rates
| By Robin Harrison
The third instalment of the World Series of Politics has Brendan and Brandt updating listeners on the early stages of Kansas' legal sports betting market.
As the pair note, data from Geocomply suggest it’s not just Kansas residents taking advantage of legal sports betting since the market opened on 1 September. There has been a wave of Missouri-based people trying to sign up as well; more than 16,000 attempts were blocked by the geolocation specialist, of which around 60% were located in Kansas City.

They also ponder the National Football League kick-off, as well as assessing the first year of legal sports betting in Arizona, one year on from its launch.
There’s even time for Brendan to return one of his favourite subjects, New York’s mobile sportsbook tax rate.
