World Series of Politics: Kansas and California
| By Daniel O'Boyle
In the second episode of the World Series of Politics, Brendan Bussmann of B Global and Brandt Iden of Sportradar discuss developments in Kansas – where regulators have made haste to launch sports betting on 1 September.
The pair note that the timeline between Kansas’ sports betting bill becoming law and the first bets being placed is the fastest of any state so far.

Brendan and Brandt also look to California, where interest groups have already spent $350m on campaigning for and against ballot initiatives that could bring sports betting to the Golden State, with plenty of time for campaigning to ramp up before voters go to the polls in November.
Brandt sets the over/under for total spend on the measures when all is said and done at $500m.
