Indiana sports betting records tumble in October
Revenue for the month amounted to $21.1m (£16.0m/€17.9m), up 83.5% from $11.5m in October 2019 and 47.6% higher than the previous monthly record of $14.3m, which was set in September of this year.
Players in Indiana wagered a total of $230.9m on sports during October, a new monthly high that surpassed the previous record of $207.5m set in September, and also 151.8% higher than October last year.
Online betting was responsible for $193.0m of all bets placed in the month, with retail accounting for $37.9m of the total.
Football proved to be the main sport of interest for consumers, with $88.7m bet on the sport during the month. Parlay betting also attracted $61.1m in wagers, ahead of baseball at $26.6m, basketball on $10.8m and other betting at $45.6m.
