William Hill makes changes to senior management team

William Hill has announced a series of changes to its senior management team, including appointing Ulrik Bengtsson to the new role of chief digital officer.
          
Bengtsson previously served as chief executive and president of Betsson Group, and will bring with him a wealth of experience.

Reporting to chief executive Philip Bowcock and sitting on the group executive committee, Bengtsson will have oversight of online as well as global data, brand, marketing and customer service.

Meanwhile, William Hill has also confirmed that Crispin Nieboer will now take on the new role of group corporate development director.

Nieboer, who spent two years turning round the bookmaker’s online business, will now have oversight of strategic growth opportunities for the company on a global basis, with an immediate focus on the US.

In addition, William Hill has revealed that Grant Williams will move from his role as chief operating officer of online to become managing director of online.

Williams will now assume day-to-day responsibility for the online business.

Confirmation of the appointments comes after William Hill revealed a 7% year-on-year increase in revenue for the 12 month to December 31, 2017.

Meanwhile, William Hill has agreed a deal with the Arena Racing Company (ARC) to expand its relationship with Doncaster Racecourse in the UK.

The bookmaker already sponsors various races and events at the facility, but will now add more jump races to this arrangement.

William Hill will sponsor the two-day Grimthorpe Chase meeting, which features a total of 14 races.

In addition, the bookmaker will remain as title sponsor of the flagship St Leger Festival in September.

“We were really impressed with ARC and Doncaster during our first year as sponsors of the Leger and we’re delighted to extend our partnership with the new William Hill Grimthorpe sponsorship,” William Hill’s head of retail marketing Liam McKee said.

David Leyden Dunbar, group director of partnerships a the ARC, added “We are delighted to further develop the partnership between ARC, Doncaster Racecourse and William Hill with this new sponsorship.

“Both the William Hill and Doncaster Racecourse teams worked together to deliver a memorable first year of The William Hill St Leger Festival in September and this will offer a further opportunity to grow that relationship.”
