Sportradar pens Brazil football deal, boosts Victorian racing partnership
Sports and betting-related services company Sportradar has entered into a new partnership with Federação Paulista de Futebol (FPF), which manages all official football tournaments in the Brazilian state of São Paulo, and has enhanced its existing partnership with the Victorian Racing Integrity Commissioner in Australia.
Under the deal with the FPF, Sportradar will utilise its Fraud Detection System to monitor over 200 football matches during the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
The partnership marks the first time that any match-fixing detection service has been employed by a South American football rights holder.
“We have managed to establish some great momentum in recent years: developing our relationships in Asia, signing MoUs with law enforcement agencies and supporting successful investigations from Austria to Australia, but there is no doubt today is a significant milestone in our evolution,” Sportradar security services managing director, Andreas Krannich, said.
Meanwhile, Sportradar has also confirmed the signing of a Cooperation and Information Exchange Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Victorian Racing Integrity Commissioner.
The MOU will strengthen an existing partnership between the two parties, which focuses on upholding the integrity of Victoria’s racing industry.
“The MOU formalises the already existing cooperation between Sportradar and the Racing Integrity Commissioner and solidifies the strong ties between the two agencies,” Krannich said.
Sal Perna, Racing Integrity Commissioner for Victoria, added: “This agreement, strengthens cooperation between my office and Sportradar, particularly with respect to information exchange, to assist sports’ controlling bodies to achieve their objectives in reducing the threat presented by criminal and corrupt conduct in Australian sport, particularly in the Victorian Racing Industry.”
