IGT hands senior PlayDigital role to Freeman
International Game Technology (IGT) has appointed Ian Freeman as vice president of global business development and commercial at its PlayDigital division.
Based at IGT’s London office, Freeman will support the PlayDigital business as it seeks to expand the reach of its digital gaming products, platforms and services, including the PlayShot sports betting offering and PlayLottery solution.
Freeman joins IGT from EveryMatrix Group, where he most recently served as group chief commercial officer.
Earlier in his gaming career, which stretches back more than 20 years, Freeman also had a five-year spell as chief commercial officer at sports betting technology provider Kambi.
“Ian shares IGT PlayDigital’s passion for moving the player experience forward, and for delivering exceptional customer and player experiences,” PlayDigital’s senior vice president, Enrico Drago, said.
“He will be instrumental in leading IGT PlayDigital’s growth and in helping our customers achieve success through our proven digital content and vast solutions portfolio.”
Freeman takes on the new role as PlayDigital continues to push out its PlayShot solution with various partners across the expanding US legal sports wagering market.
Last month, IGT deployed the technology to power in-person sports wagering services at FanDuel’s new sportsbook at the Valley Forge Casino Resort in Pennsylvania, as well as at the New Meadowlands Racetrack, in New Jersey.
