ARC purchases majority stake in Vermantia
Arena Racing Company (ARC) has acquired a majority stake in multi-channel content solutions provider Vermantia.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but it was confirmed that Filippos Antonopoulos, the founder and chief executive of Vermantia, will remain as a shareholder and also retain his executive role.
ARC said that the acquisition will allow it to expand its international distribution capacity via Vermantia’s partnership reach of 31 countries and agreements with over 20 gaming operators.
Vermantia’s CONNECT product will now also be added to ARC’s service, offering horseracing and greyhound racing from the US, Australia, South Africa and the UK.
ARC has also committed to accelerating Vermantia’s drive to create a global content hub in the Greek capital of Athens, as well as expanding its technology team and infrastructure, and continuing its ongoing design efforts.
Vermantia will remain the exclusive supplier of ARC’s portfolio of established greyhound content in various regions around the world, as well as produce and deliver bespoke channels to retail operators and distribute additional content controlled by ARC.
“ARC has established itself, along with its media partner At The Races, as the number one UK and international horse and greyhound content rights’ holder and distributor in the international market,” ARC chief executive Martin Cruddace said.
“The acquisition of Vermantia fits perfectly with our existing rights portfolio of traditional trusted BAGS greyhound content and premium international content.”
Antonopoulos of Vermantia added: “Our collaboration with ARC takes the racing product verticalisation to the next level, bridging the rights and financial reach of an industry stalwart with a technological vehicle that combines content technologies and betting technologies, bringing to market an end-to-end racing offering that truly sets us apart.”
