Luckbox.com, the new esports betting platform set up by former PokerStars staff, has signed leading esports figure Paul ‘Redeye’ Chaloner as an advisor.

Redeye works as a host, presenter and commentator in the professional esports sector, and will now tie this in with his new role at Luckbox.

As both an advisor and brand ambassador, Redeye will advise Luckbox on its overall strategy and also help spread the word about the new project.

Due to launch later this year, Luckbox will run as a Bitcoin-based start-up that allows punters to wager on esports events.

“As esports grows in popularity, it needs professional and credible players to enter the industry to create the best possible experience for fans,” Redeye said.

“I’m looking forward to sharing my thoughts and helping shape how Luckbox progresses from this point forward.”

Lars Lien serves as chief executive of Luckbox after founding the platform with former PokerStars colleague Mike Stevens earlier this year.

Lien said: “We want esports fans to know us as a trustworthy place to engage with their favourite games and working with Paul will help us convey that message.

“Also, we are looking forward to his input into the project, not least the product.

“No one knows esports like Paul and his contributions to the direction of our business will be invaluable.”
