Donaco brings in Huy as new chief executive
Asia-Pacific casino operator Donaco International has appointed Lee Bug Huy as its new chief executive, with effect from today (3 September).
Huy takes up the new role having previously served as vice president of casino at Donaco’s Star Vegas Casino & Resorts subsidiary.
He replaces Paul Arbuckle, who only moved into the position of CEO last June.
“I’d like to thank the board and I look forward to working with the rest of the team at Donaco to bring the casinos to fully operational post novel coronavirus (Covid-19) and borders reopening,” Huy said.
“We will continue to execute our pragmatic cost control strategy while keeping the market updated with future developments.”
Huy will have support from two additional non-executive independent directors in Andrew Phillips and Mr Issaraya Intrapaiboon.
Phillips has more than 25 years’ experience in senior financial and commercial management positions with publicly listed companies and multi-nationals in Australia and New Zealand.
Intrapaiboon, who has spent over 20 years working in engineering, operation, maintenance and planning within the water sector, is currently manager for treatment plants for at Australian water supply and sewage treatment services provider Unitywater.
Meanwhile, existing non-executive director Paul Porntat Amatavivadhana has been appointed as non-executive chairman of Donaco, replacing Mel Ashton, who has resigned from the board.
Non-executive director Simon Vertullo has also stepped down from the board as part of the appointments process.
“I’d like to thank Mel and Simon for their efforts and contribution to Donaco, having both been dedicated Board members providing counsel to senior management during the challenging times of Covid-19,” Amatavivadhana said.
