Betway hands regulatory role to Parkes
Betway has appointed Roger Parkes as its director of compliance and regulatory affairs.
Parkes, who will also join the company’s board, takes on the position having served as global head of compliance and regulatory and Betway-owned Win Technologies since July 105.
During his time in the role, Parkes expanded the compliance team so that it is now able to work across the entire Betway Group.
Parkes has worked in the gaming sector since 1998 and held a number of other compliance roles, including two spells with the Gambling Commission.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working for Win Technologies in London, and now look forward to greater exposure to the wider business,” said Parkes, who will now be based at the Betway office in Malta.
“I am hoping to foster an even greater compliance culture throughout the Betway Group and show that compliance is a key aspect of how we do business at board level.”
Anthony Werkman, chief executive of Betway, added: “Roger has been a wonderful addition to the Betway Group, having truly made his mark since arriving in 2015.
“He has helped make compliance a key area of focus for us and promoting him to the board at Betway Ltd. further strengthens our abilities in this area.
“It is vitally important that as the regulatory and compliance landscape evolves for operators that we have a recognised leader in their field driving our compliance structure forward.
“To my mind there is no-one better placed than Roger to do that.”
