Senet Group founder Finlay steps down as CEO
Ron Finlay, founder of the Senet Group, has opted to resign as chief executive of the organisation.
Finlay has headed up the organisation since its foundation in 2014, supporting a host of responsible gambling initiatives that have drawn support from all corners of the UK market.
Senet Group will now begin the process of identifying a replacement for Finlay.
“Senet Group has been on an amazing journey in the last 18 months,” Finlay said.
“We have taken the idea from a piece of paper to create an independent body that has delivered a national advertising campaign, engaged the industry and its key stakeholders in an important debate and recruited Sky Betting & Gaming as the first digital-only member.
“Now feels like the time for someone new to take it on the next step of the journey; I wish Senet and the team well and look forward to seeing it grow further.”
Wanda Goldwag, chair and independent standards commissioner, added: “We appreciate the contribution that Ron has made, particularly in relation to the establishment of Senet Group in 2014 and the creation of the iconic ‘When The Fun Stops Stop brand’; We wish him well.”
