Scientific Games extends Lithuanian lottery deal
The agreement extends the partnership between the two operators, which dates back to 2010, for a further five years. The contract may be extended by Olifėja for an additional two years.
Scientific Games has helped to develop games such as Sekmes 7 and Magiskas Perlas for the Lithuanian market. In 2019, Olifėja’s instant game retail sales topped €56m – some 50 times greater than 2010 levels.
“Scientific Games is proud to be a part of the successful growth of instant game entertainment in Lithuania, and we are committed to help Olifėja continue responsibly growing instant product sales over the next decade,” said John Schulz, senior vice president for global instant products for Scientific Games.
“Instant products as a game entertainment category are not fully realised throughout Europe, and Olifėja’s success is a tremendous example of the category’s potential.”
Proceeds from Lithuania National Lottery game sales support the Lithuanian National Olympic Committee whose main obligations include the preparation and leading of the delegates for the Olympic Games, regional, continental or global multi-sport competitions.
Antanas Muraška, managing director for Olifėja, said: “Olifėja enjoys a true partnership with Scientific Games. We are proud to continue working with the market leaders of our industry, using the valuable insights and global best practices that Scientific Games provides to create entertaining games that Lithuanian’s love to play.”
Lithuanian gambling revenue in the first half of 2020 fell by 15.9% to €43.8m (£4.0m/$5.2m) as the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic led to online revenue overtaking that of the land-based sector.
