Recently-merged Dutch national lottery operator Nederlandse Loterij has named Niels Onkenhout as its new chief executive.
Onkenhout will head up the new entity, which was formed earlier this year through the merger of Dutch state lottery firms Staatsloterij and De Lotto.
The 55-year-old joined the company on September 1 and will now go through a period of transition before replacing current chief executive Frans van Steenis, who is due to retire.
Onkenhout, who has a host of experience in the Dutch leisure and retail sectors, will oversee the merger of Staatsloterij and De Lotto assets, as well as focus on how to best deliver the now-merged service offering.
