Intralot extends Lotterywest contract until 2026
This will see Intralot Australia continue to provide its lottery operating system and services for the operation of Lotterywest.
“We are proud to extend our strong and solid collaboration with Lotterywest, an esteemed lottery operator with extreme contribution to the West Australian society,” Marios Mitromaras, chief executive of Intralot Australia, commented.
“This extension represents the confidence on Intralot’s lottery technology, systems and support.”
In November last year, Lotterywest also signed a ten year supply agreement with online lottery supplier Jumbo Interactive.
That deal saw Jumbo provide its white label platform to the operator for its online operation, and initially lasts for three years, with the option for three and then four-year extensions.
Also in November, Intralot announced that it expected 2020 earnings to be reduced by between €25m and €28m due to the effects of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
In December, the supplier said the reopening of Australian gambling venues and ‘smoother’ sports betting operations had left it hopeful of a recovery in Q4 2020, after the pandemic continued to impact its Q3 results.
Following the loss of the Inteltek sports betting contract in Turkey and the suspension of its Bulgarian licence, Intralot’s revenue for the three months to 30 September was down 44.9% year-on-year at €97.8m. The company posted a loss of €20.5m for the quarter.
