MGA cancels Knockout Gaming’s licence

The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has cancelled Knockout Gaming Limited’s B2C gaming licences in the country over two breaches of the country’s gaming regulations.

Knockout Gaming has been ordered to cease all of its gaming operations in Malta, while the operator must no longer accept new customers or player deposits.

However, Knockout Gaming must allow existing players to access its platforms, as well as refund any monies currently in customers’ accounts. 

According to the MGA, Knockout Gaming was found to have breached regulation 51(1) of the country’s Authorisations and Compliance Directive, and failed to pay its agreed compliance contribution fee of €20,044.35 (£18,226.65/$23,641.00) for the period from June to November 2019.

Knockout Gaming is licensed to offer fixed-odds betting and casino gaming, and runs four sites – Knockoutcasino.com, Rush777.com, Spinomaniac.com and Welivebets.com – under these licences.

The operator may be permitted to appeal against the decision.
