MGA cancels Join Games Malta’s B2B supplier licence

The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has cancelled Join Games Malta’s licence after ruling that the casino software provider breached a number of regulations.

Join Games Malta had held a B2B critical supply licence in the country, through which it was able to offer Type 1 gaming services via its JoinGames.net online casino website.

However, the MGA has now withdrawn this licence, ordering the provider to halt gaming operations and cease registering new players or accepting new customer deposits.

The MGA also informed Join Games Malta it must retain and provide registered players with access to their accounts, as well as refund all monies standing to its customers.

According to the regulator, Join Games Malta breached regulation 9 (1) of the country’s Gaming Act, having failed to seek written approval from the MGA before appointing new directors to the business.

The MGA added that the provider failed to submit its key functional roles list and necessary supporting documentation to the Authority, and also failed to pay certain regulatory fees on time.

Join Games Malta may appeal the MGA’s decision.

The ruling comes after the MGA last week also cancelled World Watch Luxury’s Type 3 B2C gambling services licence due to a number of failings.

The MGA said World Watch Luxury failed to adhere to an MGA order, failed to “ensure the integrity and availability of essential regulatory data”.

Furthermore, it failed to designate those who held “key function roles” within the business, with each failing amounting to a breach of MGA regulations.
