Shesports Cup Showcases FIFA at ICE Esports Arena
A recent report from The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) showed that Women’s football has grown hugely over the past year with commercial revenue growth of 33%, broadcast revenue up 22% and 11% more teams with a title sponsor.
A friendly between United States and England at Wembley attracted nearly 78,000 fans and sold out within 24 hours.
Similarly, the player uptake and interest from women at grassroots levels has exploded. In this reporter’s small home village, a new girl’s team was launched in 2021 and now caters to over 50 girls across the ages of 5 – 16.
Therefore, it feels entirely appropriate that this year’s ICE London welcomes members of the Shesports Cup franchise as they strut their impressive stuff at the Esports Arena.
Some of the world’s best female FIFA players will take on members of the public as part of the gamezone, showcasing both their impressive gaming talent but also providing a fantastic and interactive experience for guests at this year’s event.
ICE will mark the fifth broadcast event for the pro team and continues the fulfillment of their vision to provide an opportunity to showcase women in esports.
The arena gamezone will also feature an esportsbook with £0 wagers for all visitors.
And if the pros thrash you at FIFA, you can whet your sorrows at the game bar over a beer.
But if the gaming elements aren’t for you, you’ll still have access to a host of esports experts who will be giving a series of keynotes on how best to utilize the esports market.
The arena can be found at the far end of the S3 exhibition floor at London’s ExCel as part of ICE London 2023. Keynotes run on both mornings of the 7th and 8th February.
