Massachusetts to study potential on online gaming
Massachusetts lawmakers are to join forces with gaming experts to conduct a study into the potential of online gambling in the US state.
Representative Joseph Wagner and Senator Eileen Donoghue will head up the initiative, which will cover points such as “economic development, consumer protection, taxation, legal and regulatory structures, implications for existing gaming, burdens and benefits to the commonwealth and any other factors the commission deems relevant”.
Steve Crosby, chairman of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, will also take part in the study, along with other contributors selected by officials.
The final report, which is required to include recommendations for legislation, must be submitted by the deadline of July 31, 2017.
