China lottery records 6.7% YoY increase in April

Chinese lottery sales totaled at CNY31.07bn (£3.68bn/€4.33bn/$4.66bn) in April, down by 5.6% from March but up by 6.7% year-on-year.
Welfare lottery sales accounted for CNY11.96bn of this, up by 7.2% from April 2021 but a fall of 10% monthly.
Lottery made up CNY7.26bn of this, up by 0.8% yearly. However this was down by 12.5% from March. Instant games revenue also fell by 9.2% monthly to CNY2.42bn.
Keno type games saw CNY 2.28bn in revenue, falling by 2.1% from March and growing by 46.6% year-on-year.
Sports lottery sales accounted for CNY19.10 of the total sales, down 2.7% monthly but up by 6.4% yearly.
Lottery made up CNY6.0bn of this, a rise of 2.5% from March, while sports wagering accumulated CNY10.66bn- a decrease of 0.6% monthly.
Instant games made up CNY2.43bn of the total sales, down by 19.9% from March, while video lottery game revenue fell from CNY11m to CNY1m.
