BetMGM launch helps push DC betting revenue and handle up in June
Overall revenue from William Hill, DC Lottery’s Gambet brand and BetMGM for the month amounted to $2.2m (£1.6m/€1.9m), up 10.0% from $2.0m in May, while DC’s handle also increased 42.3% to $19.5m.
William Hill, which runs an online mobile sportsbook and also has a physical location at the Capital One Arena, remained by far the market leader in DC. The operator posted $1.6m in revenue in June, up 23.1% from $1.3m in May.
William Hill also saw its handle climb 48.1% month-on-month to $15.7m.
Gambet, which is operated by the DC Lottery and powered by Intralot, ranked second with $517,990 in revenue, though this was down 18.7% from $637,400 in May. However, handle was 13.4% higher at $3.4m.
BetMGM joined the DC market in the middle of June, launching in the district in partnership with the Washington Nationals Major League Baseball (MLB) team.
