GiG expands into virtual sports with 1X2 Network
Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has extended its sportsbook offering by rolling out a new virtual sports offering in partnership with 1X2 Network.
Operators working with GiG will now be able to offer their own customers access to a range of betting options based on virtual sports games, including horse and greyhound racing, football, tennis and cycling.
Punters around the world currently face limited sports betting options due to the cancellation and postponement of many major sporting events as a result of the ongoing novel coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis.
1X2 Network specialises in virtual sports and has been providing its content to the market for more than 20 years.
“Partnering with 1X2 Network allows us to offer a quality virtual sports portfolio with realistic 3D games for some of the most popular on-demand sports betting games,” GiG chief information officer Chris Armes said. “This allows operators to increase their offering placing them at the forefront of sports betting.”
The launch comes after Betsson Group last week announced that it had secured approval from anti-trust regulators to proceed with its planned acquisition of GiG’s B2C assets, with the deal now set to go through by the middle of April.
GiG in February agreed to sell its B2C assets, including the Rizk, Guts, Kaboo and Thrills brands, to Betsson in a deal worth €33.0m (£28.8m/$35.9m).
