Esports Entertainment unveils new wagering platform
Esports Entertainment Group has launched a new wagering platform focused on betting activities around the professional esports market.
‘VIE’ offers bet exchange style wagering on a range of esports events to punters and fans around the world, with the exception of the US.
Customers can opt for player versus player betting, with the house taking a small percentage of each wager, meaning that a player will always win.
Games covered by VIE include ‘Counter-Strike: Global Offensive’, ‘Dota 2’, ‘Call of Duty’, ‘Hearthstone’ and ‘StarCraft II’.
The platform will initially launch in English, but Esports Entertainment plans to introduce Spanish and Russian versions, as well as other languages, in the near future.
Esports Entertainment also noted that its affiliate program, powered by Income Access, has been fully integrated into VIE.
In September, the company signed up more than 60 affiliate streamers, and some have already commenced the on-boarding process with VIE, with the majority to follow over the next 45 days.
Once all affiliates have been added, VIE will launch a contest for affiliates that will feature prizes and rewards throughout 2018 to incentivise registrations.
Grant Johnson, chief executive of Esports Entertainment, said: “Today marks a major milestone for Esports Entertainment Group, our investors and the entire esports industry.
“With esports experiencing rapid global growth and set to hit mainstream sports in 2018 with the launch of initiatives such as NBA 2K later this year, esports fans have told us loud and clear that they want a licensed, secure and transparent wagering platform to augment their experience.”
