Big Betty Brings Esports to ICE
Following on from the fantastic CS:GO tournament two years ago, the ICE Esports Arena returns in 2022 on the top of the Hyper Esports truck, Big Betty.
Weighing in at 40 tonnes, Big Betty is owned by Allied Esports whose vision is to make Esports events accessible to all. An exact replica of the Optimus Prime truck used in the film, Transformers, the truck has quite literally ‘unfolded’ to produce a fantastic arena for newly formed professional Apex Legends team, Vexed, to take on all comers at ICE.
Everything comes with the truck, including booths for the casters, all connectivity requirements, gaming machines and a broadcast booth where the technicians sit and manage the screens and the stream.
The ICE arena will be streaming live on the Allied Esports Twitch channel where 3 players from Vexed will be competing in various Apex Legends game modes, against online gamers across the globe.
This year, alongside watching the very best players, audiences at ICE are encouraged to place cash free bets on the games. Sponsored by Ultraplay spectators are given odds on various game elements. For example, the first game gives 4-1 odds on Vexed winning outright. Whereas you can get 5-1 odds on Vexed getting the first kill or, ‘First Blood’.
Everyone who places a free bet across the week at ICE will be entered into a draw to win a Playstation 5.
Two years ago, the keynotes focused very much on an evolving world of Esports and how gaming companies and betting companies could partner to monetise gaming. EA’s Apex Legends, together with Ultraplay and ICE are bringing that vision to fruition.
Be sure to check it out this week at ICE London at the Esports Arena (S4) in London’s ExCel.
