Kangwon Land Casino temporarily closes after positive Covid-19 cases
The venue will close from 16 – 18 August as a precautionary measure to help halt the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Out of 1300 tests conducted between 12 – 15 August, 17 came back positive including 10 Waterworld interns and seven full time staff.
A full inspection will be carried out during the period of closure in tandem with the Jeongseon-gun health authorities.
Kangwon’s Waterworld venue has been closed since 13 August as well as other food and drink establishments.
In addition, Kangwon Land signed memorandum of understanding with the Jeongseon Police Force in an attempt to lower crime in the area.
The partnership will see the two attempt to crack down on illegal activities, through methods such as sharing CCTV images and increasing voluntary crime prevention activities.
Kangwon Land CEO Lee Sam-geol said: “We have prepared this event to strengthen a close cooperative relationship as part of making Jeongseon safe.”
