NBA’s Sacramento Kings to open in-venue gaming lounge
California-based National Basketball Association (NBA) side the Sacramento Kings is to launch a new in-stadium lounge where players can play a virtual currency predictive betting game, powered by betting and fantasy sports solutions provider Swish Analytics.
The Sacramento Kings Skyloft Predictive Gaming Lounge be located in the team’s Golden 1 Centre stadium, allowing suite, loft and balcony ticket holders to predict game results for a chance to win exclusive prizes.
“Basketball fans across the country are clamoring for gaming options, and we’re thrilled to be the first NBA team to bring this unique experience to Sacramento,” Sacramento Kings owner and chairman Vivek Ranadivé explained. “Predictive gaming is incredibly disruptive and will only continue to gain popularity in the NBA and beyond.
“Working with industry leaders like Swish Analytics allows us to test and perfect this technology to give fans the best experience in future seasons.”
The lounge will feature iPads loaded with Swish’s BetRush software, as well as large screen televisions to allow visitors to follow the game. BetRush is a live bet simulation engine that provides a real-time feed of betting-related analysis, content, statistics, odds and visualisations.
Each fan is given free credits which can be used to make their predictions, which are all assigned odds using Swish’s predictive odds-making platform. Correct predictions then win additional credits, which can be redeemed for virtual raffle tickets. These tickets, in turn, can be used to enter sweepstakes draws to win signed memorabilia and game tickets.
“We’re proud to bring this gaming technology to the NBA with a forward-thinking and creative organization like the Sacramento Kings,” Swish co-founder Bobby Skoff said.
“Nobody is better than the Sacramento Kings at building best-in-class fan experiences utilizing technology. The popularity of predictive gaming shows no signs of slowing down and we look forward to continuing to build and iterate the BetRush platform in Sacramento.”
The launch of the dedicated lounge, which will open for the first time on March 17 for the game against the Chicago Bulls, sees the Sacramento Kings continue to dabble in betting-related products. This has already seen the team launch its Call the Shot predictions game within its mobile app, which was recently upgraded with additional rewards through a partnership with MGM Resorts International and augmented reality solutions provider Xperiel.
