Yggdrasil targets B2B remote gaming licence in Gibraltar
Yggdrasil Gaming has submitted a formal application to secure a B2B remote gaming licence from the Gibraltar Licensing Authority.
In December, the online and mobile casino games provider obtained a licence from the UK Gambling Commission to offer its proprietary gaming platform and titles to consumers in Great Britain.
Malta-based Yggdrasil has said it is now keen to extend the reach of its services and has put forward an application for a licence in Gibraltar, adding that it expects the process to be finalised shortly.
Fredrik Elmqvist, chief executive of Yggdrasil, said: “We were over the moon to be invited to apply for a Gibraltar licence; it’s an exclusive jurisdiction, with a number of the major operators based there, and we believe it will be a fantastic new hunting ground for us.
“We’ve pretty much covered all the player liquidity available from the operators in Malta, so now is the time for us to be targeting Gibraltar, where we will be building up our presence.
“We’ll be putting some people on the ground in Gibraltar and are actively recruiting.
“We strongly believe we can hit the ground running as we have carved out a niche for ourselves that is different from other suppliers.”
