Africa Dashboard – October 2020
This is your overview of the African gambling sector in numbers and enables you to follow its evolution from 2012 with projections up to 2025.
As the charts show, while the continent is on track to account for just 1% of global gambling GGR in 2020 (see Chart 1), a range of factors from rapid population growth to strong GDP growth in sub-Sahara countries are underpinning a growth forecast well above the global rate to 2025.
H2 is currently estimating gross win across land-based and remote channels to increase by 52% to US$6bn over the next five years (Chart 2), with igaming’s share forecast to grow from 11.5% to 13% in this time (Chart 5).
