Hakan Halstedt is to leave his position as head of Swedish gambling regulator Lotteriinspektionen in March
Halstedt, who has led the body since 2008, will leave the organisation at the end of March to take up a new role as a district court judge in the country.
During his time with the regulator, Halstedt has served on a government panel tasked with reviewing the national gambling market and identifying ways that it could be improved.
Upon his departure, Halstedt will have no further involvement with the body or gambling regulatory decisions in Sweden.
The Lotteriinspektionen is yet to announce a replacement for Halstedt.
