Silverfish CSR unveils responsible gaming tool
Silverfish CSR has unveiled a new platform that has been stress-tested by lotteries across three continents with the aim of helping gambling companies to enhance their social responsibility strategies.
DigitalRG.net is a cloud-based platform that features tools, resources and training to help businesses plan, implement and monitor their schemes.
The new service also enables users to access a pre-certification solution and test current processes against industry benchmarks, regulatory requirements and industry association certification standards.
In turn, this allows companies applying for industry certification to monitor how likely they are to pass licensing processes and what they need to ensure they are successful in their efforts.
Silverfish has opted to initiate the soft launch today (Thursday) after a period of stress-testing.
The roll-out comes at a time when gambling companies are facing unprecedented pressure to ensure their responsible gaming strategies are up to scratch.
A Silverfish spokesperson told iGamingBusiness.com: “As I'm sure you've seen, there has been a marked increase in enforcement action against operators. We feel that this is a strong indicator of a broader trend towards social responsibility.
“Previously it felt as if operators' focus was to comply with regulations, whereas now there's an expectation that operators need to do more. This is where DigitalRG comes in.”
Earlier this year, the UK Gambling Commission called on the industry to “step up” and support the regulatory body with its aim to improve standards across the industry.
The GC also recently teamed up with the Responsible Gambling Strategy Board to carry out research into whether some gambling products and environments are more harmful than others.
The Silverfish spokesperson also told iGamingBusiness.com that DigitalRG.net was originally developed as an in-house tool to help clients of Silverfish CSR complete relevant certifications, but is now being expanded to support others.
“What's happening now is that DigitalRG is evolving into a separate business from Silverfish, which is a broader social responsibility consultancy, and we're confident that it can thrive as a stand-alone product,” the spokesperson said.
Silverfish founder Laura Da Silva added: “At a time when scrutiny of gaming businesses’ practices has increased and public perception of the industry has deteriorated, DigitalRG is sure to become a must-have tool for operators and suppliers alike.
“For the first time, companies can test themselves against major regulatory standards, making sure they do their utmost to protect players, engage their staff and suppliers, and contributing to research into problem gambling.
“Developing and refining a responsible gaming strategy may seem to be a major project, but with DigitalRG we aim to make it as simple and impactful as possible.”
