Birch to depart as chief executive of Rank Group

The Rank Group has confirmed that Henry Birch has given 12 months’ notice to resign from his role as chief executive.

Birch, who has been chief executive of Rank since May 2014, will leave the firm in order to become group chief executive of Shop Direct, a multi-brand online retailer in the UK and Ireland.

Rank said that Birch will remain in his current role with the company until a successor has been identified, in order to ensure an “orderly handover”.

“The board would like to thank Henry for his significant contribution to Rank over the past four years and will continue to work closely with him and the executive management team during this leadership transition,” Rank said in a statement.
