The GB Gambling Commission has suspended Genesis Global’s operating licence while it carries out a review of the online gambling operator’s activities.

The Commission said that its review will focus on suspected breaches of Global’s licence, namely section 116(2)(a) and section 116(2)(c)(i)) of the Gambling Act.

Section 116(2)(a) states that the regulator can review a gambling licensee if it has reason to suspect that “activities may have been carried on, in purported reliance on the licence but not in accordance with a condition of the licence”.

Meanwhile, 116(2)(c)(i)) allows the Commission to carry out a review if it suspects the licensee “may be unsuitable to carry on the licensed activities”.

The suspension is effective immediately, with Malta-based Genesis required to halt activities on all of its websites in the UK while the review is ongoing.

Casoola.com, Casinoplanet.com, Kassu.com, Casinocruise.com, Casinogods.com, Casinojoy.com, Genesiscasino.com, Pelaa.com, Sloty.com, Spela.com, Spinit.com and Vegashero.com must all stop offering their services to customers in Great Britain.

The Commission also instructed Genesis to allow players to access their accounts in order to withdraw funds, but to also make clear that none of its sites would be accepting wagers until further notice.

Genesis Global’s combined remote operating licence covers real event betting, virtual betting and also casino gambling activities.
