Betway seals esports ‘Fight Night’ title sponsorship
Online gaming operator Betway has struck a deal to become the title sponsor of a major upcoming ‘Fight Night’ esports event.
The one-off exhibition will feature Astralis and Fnatic – two of esports’ biggest teams, with a €4,000 ($4,400) prize up for grabs.
The online bookmaker, which claims to have been the first operator to launch a dedicated esports portal, will be offering a comprehensive collection of markets on the ‘Best of Five’ Counter Strike Global Offensive battle.
Betway Fight Night will take place at 7pm CET on February 25 and will be hosted on the Aftonbladet Twitch digital channel.
“Betway Fight Night pits the best teams of esports against each other and the upcoming event is sure to capture the imagination of esports fans,“ Betway marketing director Anthony Werkman said.
“Since Betway launched its dedicated esports portal, we’ve seen this area of the sportsbook grow exponentially and it regularly features in our daily top 10 sports for turnover. This is another way for us to join gaming fans in supporting the growth of esports.“
Over the past 12 months, Betway has tripled its esports team to accommodate the huge surge in interest from esports bettors.
Betway is also the official principal sponsor of English Premier League football club West Ham United as well as Premier League Darts, UK Snooker Championship and the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham Festival, as well as the Davis Cup and Fed Cup.
