International Game Technology (IGT) has been granted the Internet Responsible Gambling Compliance Assessment Program (iCAP) certification in the US in recognition of its service offering.

The certification provides assurance to both operators and consumers that IGT’s B2C websites and platforms offered in the B2B market are trustworthy and also compliant with the Internet Responsible Gambling Standards (IRGS), which are set by the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG).

IGT applied for the iCAP certification last month and became the subject of an independent assessment by UK-based Gambling Integrity.

Working in collaboration with the NCPG, Gambling Integrity was able to verify the compliance of IGT's responsible gaming program against the IRGS.

Matteo Monteverdi, senior vice-president, global product marketing, interactive at IGT, said: “One of our primary corporate social responsibility objectives is to ensure the integrity of the products and services we offer for the sole purpose of protecting players around the world.

“We will continue to strive to meet and, where possible, exceed iCAP requirements, and institutionalise a program that will be ever evolving and continually improving.”
