Novomatic confirms acquisition of Albanian National Lottery

Novomatic has completed its previously announced acquisition of the Albanian National Lottery.

In a statement confirming the agreement, Novomatic said the acquisition will “systematically strengthen its lottery business”, with the Albanian operation to complement its range of established lottery products.

The Albanian National Lottery began life in 2012 when Lotaria Kombëtare was granted a 10-year licence to establish, operate and manage it.

Harald Neumann, chief executive of Novomatic, said: “Eastern and South Eastern Europe are among the core markets in which Novomatic has established an excellent position due to its early commitments.

“With the successful completion of the acquisition of 100% of the shares of Lotaria Kombëtare, we intend to further enhance this position and to implement our strategy as a full-service provider for the gaming industry in this region, as well.”

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
